The power transmission of CNC machine tools all comes from servo electric motors. With industrial advancements, electric motors have continuously innovated towards greater precision, efficiency, and ease of control.

Mechanical coupling has also progressed from traditional screws to precision ball screws. However, due to the significant differences in machining processes and load feed system conditions, it is necessary to add a speed reducer to increase torque, improve load-side inertia matching, and ensure smooth feed operation. Ordinary speed reducers are inefficient, bulky, and have short lifespans, and are unable to perform precise positioning control. Therefore, using a high-precision, low-backlash planetary gear reducer remains the best choice, overcoming the aforementioned difficulties.

CNC machine tools utilize high-precision, low-backlash planetary gear reducers. These reducers are mostly used in feed mechanisms because they can withstand high input speeds, produce high torque density, high torsional rigidity, low backlash, low noise, are easy to install, suitable for any assembly direction, and offer sufficient and complete reduction ratios, allowing CNC machine tool operation to reach a smoother and more precise state. The advantages of high-precision, low-backlash planetary gear reducers include compact structure, small size, high rigidity, high torque density, and coaxial input and output for greater design flexibility and lighter weight. They boast a high transmission efficiency of over 96%, require no maintenance, have a long lifespan, and their modular design makes application and installation easy. They are applicable in both forward and reverse rotation, have excellent thermal conductivity, and are not prone to temperature rise, making them an excellent choice for CNC machine tools.

Application Examples:

1. Machining centers and CNC milling machines can use at least four gears.

X and Y axis feed and rapid traverse can increase feed smoothness, reduce noise, and lower servo motor costs. High torque makes control easier, and feed smoothness is not affected even with different loads. The Z-axis load varies significantly due to gravity; adding a high-precision, low-backlash planetary gear reducer can reduce the load on the servo motor and increase the machine's lifespan. For tool changing mechanisms requiring fast speed, precise positioning, and low vibration, high-precision, low-backlash planetary gear reducers remain the best choice.

2. CNC lathes and turning centers can use at least three planetary gears.

The X and Z axis feed and rapid feed are fast and smooth. The use of high-precision, low-backlash planetary gear reducers in conjunction with precision ball screws reduces mechanical failure rates and improves precision. Servo control's high/low gear conversion device shortens time and ensures fast and smooth gear changes.

3. CNC grinding machines and EDM machines can use at least three planetary gears.

Smooth simultaneous movement of the X, Y, and Z axes simplifies controller parameter settings, resulting in high-precision finished products with smooth arc joints and reduced surface roughness.

In practical applications, the high precision, low backlash, and use of precision ball screws simplify control system settings, enabling the production of high-precision products. The high-strength, rigid structure provides a long service life, high efficiency, and requires no maintenance or oil changes, reducing mechanical failures. Because the gears undergo ion nitriding treatment, the surface magnetic layer is wear-resistant, while the base material retains its toughness. Hard cutting method, with less deformation and correct tooth profile, can manufacture high-precision, low-backlash planetary gear reducers.
